
Darüşşafaka Ömran and Yahya Hamuluoğlu Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation Center established in 2005 and creating funds for Darüşşafaka Educational Institutions, obtained the International Health Tourism Authorization Certificate.
The Center which provides services in Maltepe, Istanbul with its specialist staff will now be able to provide services to international patients who come to our country to get healthcare services, and to tourists who may need healthcare services during their visit to our country.
Stating that, according to the data from the Ministry of Health, there are 13 physical therapy and rehabilitation centers with that certificate in Ankara, 4 in Istanbul, 4 in Izmir, 2 in Bursa, 1 in Kocaeli and 1 in Antalya, Elçin Aykutoğlu (MD) , Darüşşafaka Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation Center Responsible Manager, continued: “This certificate is granted after an inspection by the Ministry of Health, to the institutions that meet the competence criteria set for health centers involved in international health tourism. At Darüşşafaka Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation Center, we first established an international health tourism department and carried out the procedures required by our Ministry step by step to obtain this certificate. Afterwards, we were entitled to obtain this certificate as a result of the inspections performed by our Ministry.”
Aykutoğlu (MD) stated that in the past they could not admit international patients as they did not have the International Health Tourism Authorization Certificate and said: “We are very happy that we will be able to provide services to patients who need neurological rehabilitation but cannot receive it abroad. Moreover, this certificate will further increase the recognition level of our Center in the international arena.”
